Straven House is a listed building dating back to 1873. Transformed from a family home into a care home over 30 years ago, it has retained its homely atmosphere and layout and this helps its residents feel it is their home from home.
We offer high quality residential and day care for older people, including people who are suffering from dementia and older people with physical disability.
Straven House is a beautiful home set on the edge of the Wharfe valley which overlooks the picturesque town of Ilkely, at the Southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Visitors receive a proper Yorkshire welcome at any time and if you would like to come and have a meal with your loved-one just let us know.
The staff here at Straven House give discreet care, allowing people to have total freedom whilst observing the need for care as required. It’s a beautiful homely home with a welcoming atmosphere and kind and experienced staff.
We place our residents at the core of everything we do. Our approach to achieving quality is to listen to our residents, understand what it is that they want and why, and to respond to that, thereby continuously striving to improve the quality of our service.
